Description:

  • Maker: Ruffin Johnson, aka "El Lobo Solo"
  • Model: Skinner
  • Blade Length: 4.5"
  • Overall Length: 9"
  • Steel: 440C
  • Blade Style: Trailing Point
  • Handle: Sambar stag with desert ironwood insert, stainless steel spacers and fittings
  • Sheath: full leather with unusual handle flap; stamped with "Red's Saddle Shop" and has "Ruff. Johnson #8" written in Sharpie on the back. The curved tip doesn't fit all that well, but it appears to be original based on other photos of his knives from that time period.
  • Vintage: mid or late 90s.
  • Engravings: wolf engraving on right side of blade near the guard with something in cursive under it; on the left side, "Ruffin Johnson" in block capitals with "El Lobo Solo" in cursive under it. All engraving is clean and well done.
  • Ornamentation: very cool wolf on the end cap, seems to be the tang which has been molded into shape after assembling the handle. Pretty sweet.
  • Origin: Houston, Texas
  • Condition: mint, or close to it, very minor scratch on the bolster.
